July News

As we sit on our couches watching the Tour, hopefully with a heater on and a hot drink, it’s time for the monthly news roundup and address some issues at home.

Junior Rollouts

Something we have neglected for some time is ensuring that our junior racers are on appropriate equipment. We are going to start spot-checking junior rollouts and make parents aware of the rules and the reasons they are there. Current rollout lengths can be viewed from Cycling Australia.

Pinjarra Classic

We are just over 2 months out from our biggest event of the year – the Pinjarra Classic on September 18th. We are looking to be running the junior grades and separated women’s grades again, so there will be plenty of work that needs to be accomplished on the day. We are also concerned that this work will fall back to the same people that give up their opportunity to race every year, in order to make the day run smoothly.

In any case there are plenty of jobs that are easy, but still need to be done regardless. Think about putting your hand up now.
