On Sunday August 6th PDCC will be hosting the State Junior Road Championships at the Doghill circuit in Baldivis, racing will start at 9AM and run until 1PM. The club was asked to add this race to our schedule by CycleSport WA, a testament to our reputation for operating races both big and small.
Since this request was a little last-minute, we have been busy with all the background work required to operate the event. This includes obtaining permissions from local Police and local Government, booking services like Ambulances, and rounding up our awesome volunteers. The time constraint restricted our choices in courses, but Doghill always favours the smarter racer over the stronger.
For those that have not yet put their name next to an event this year, this is your opening to help us in running a smooth event – without missing the opportunity of racing yourself. We require 7 people to operate as traffic marshals, an additional 8 vehicles for lead and spares, plus a few hands to put out signs and assist myself.
State Championships are an important factor in State Team selection, so we are expecting some fierce battles to impress and come away with a Gold and Black jersey!
