Winter Series Changes

ATTN ALL – Important Information!!!

After the club committee meeting tonight, there are some very important messages. This Saturday 12 May our Winter series starts. Nominations on the day.

1 – For the first time we will have a women’s only grade. This will be aimed at A/B grade, will start at 2pm as per all other grades, just after Mixed B Grade, and will run for 7 laps (61km). We are aiming to have 15 competitors per grade. If we have enough entries, we will add another grade aimed at C/D level which will run for 5 laps (44km). Women are able to enter into either the women grades, or the mixed grades. This is very new for the club, when you nominate, advise the grade you race in, and if we split grades we will advise on the line, please be patient. We would really like to build this for women racers, if we get more we will put on more grades we will be learning as we go. There will of course be a rider of the year competition as per our mixed grades.

2 – Due to our commitment to safety for all competitors, and the ongoing struggle for the club to engage suitable qualified volunteers, the committee has decided to contract 2 X traffic controllers at each race this winter. Due to this requirement, a new race nomination fee structure will be implemented to cover the cost. Race fees will increase by $5 per entrant and be as follows

Juniors (all U17 and below) $10
Senior Members – $15
Senior Visitors – $25
Transponder hire – $5

This is an unfortunate move, and does not remove completely our reliance on volunteers, however lessens the load. Please help out the club if you can, and volunteer for the remainder of the year to ensure we can keep fees to an absolute minimum.
