On Feb 7th at Smeaton Way the Peel District Cycling Club will conduct a D grade trophy race where D grade will race for a cup donated by Phil Devenish and family. For those newer members, Lara was a popular member of our club and a fierce D grade racer. Lara was a passionate Vegan and Animal rescuer. Lara took her life in August 2014 and the family approached the club to run this race.
Nominations will be $15 with $5 of this going to the family to distibute to charities. On the day we will have other fund raising activities going on so bring a few bucks for a good cause. If you would like to donate a prize let Dave Simmons know. Please keep in mind that Lara was a passionate Vegan so sausage sizzles or anything meat related would be insensitive to her beliefs. I would love to see all riders hang around after their races to watch the presentation if possible.
