Race Report – Motorplex 8 December 2013

The first race of the season at the motorplex and a chance to see the recently widened first corner. As usual the wind was strong and was going to have an impact on the races.

The juniors were first away for 3 laps of the 1.6km circuit, and as last week it was a close finish with Jake Brown first, Sam Traianedes second & Todd Brown third.

The wind had a big impact on D grade, with race broken into small groups very quickly. The groups broke apart and reformed throughout the race, in the end visitor Daniel Adams showing a clean pair of heels to Scott Mcmaster, second, David Porter, third and Leanne Hoffman fourth.

In B grade an early two rider break saw Paul Prottey out sprint Adam Jones for the win, with Adam Wise leading home the rest of the bunch over a minute later for third.

C grade, saw another early break stay away for the whole race with Ben Blacklock beating Lennon Mcclintock by the narrowest of margins, with Justin Brown third and
Steven Mcconnachie the fourth member of the breakaway.

E grade saw the younger riders dominate again, with a five riders fighting out the finish with James Mccartney first, Jordan Dawson second and Joshua Brown third.

A grade looked like it was going to go the another breakaway win, but in the end it was a bunch sprint from the biggest group of the day with Luke Pledger victorious from Paul Cheng and Luke Banham.
