Saturday saw 55 riders take part in the North Dandalup handicap. After the last handicap the younger riders were given more respect by the handicappers and where starting further back in the field.

Four riders, including Matthew Beecroft and Glen Cumming took off up the Del Park climb and caught the group which started two minutes ahead. Colin Luff jumped across from this group to make it five. They then proceeded to catch all the riders in front on the rollings roads to Dwellingup. On the return journey, the 5 became 4, then 3, then 2 as Luff was unhitched on the last big climb, before the rapid descent into North Dandalup where Beecroft out sprinted Cumming for the win.

The scratch group of the five fastest riders in the race, managed to chased down the other 47 riders, losing two of their number on the way. With Wade Longworth winning the sprint for fourth overall and the best time overall.

Next week sees a return to the regular road circuit racing at Wandi
