Spring came early to Wandi with plenty of sunshine and warm weather, though an unseasonal strong westerly which made racing challenging.
The first race was junior race, which was won by Taj Redjwell with Ethan Clark second.
In the first couple of laps A grade quickly split in to two groups and while riders moved between the two groups over the next couple of laps, by the half way mark it was obvious the winner was going to come from the leading group of six. The attacks then started in the front group as individuals and pairs tried their luck, splintering the group completely, so by the last lap there was no groups just six individual riders chasing victory. With Michael Fitzgerald winning, Timothy Sellar second and Wade Longworth third.
B grade saw a large number of attacks, but nothing stuck until Callum Henderson launched an attack early on the last lap, he was joined by Emily McRedmond with a few kilometres to go. It looked like the the race was between these two, Until Lennon Mclintock launched himself from the pursuing pack to grab victory on the line from McRemond second, with Anthony Mateljan third.
C grade saw a similar number of attacks, with similar result. Last lap heroics failed and resulting in a big bunch sprint, which Tim Watson won, with Conor Leahy second and Peter Clark third.
A very aggressive second lap saw D grade break into two groups. While there was a number of attacks from the front group, they stayed together. In the small bunch sprint Manual Ramos was victorious, with Tyker Lindorff second and John Taylor third.
E grade broke apart on the first lap, with most rider racing individually to the finish. With Rohan Goss winning, Ken Portman second and Matthew Connan third.
