Last Saturday despite a forecast of rain and strong winds Peel Districts Cycling Club had the biggest turn out of the year with over 100 riders racing.

Unfortunately with over 100 riders, there was only one E grade racer. Callum Milne, so he raced with D grade. Which was a fairly frantic race which saw a number of racers lose contact in the first couple of laps and saw Callum finish with a dropped B grade racer.

After the fast start, it was a bunch finish in D grade which saw Ashley Clark show a clean pair of heels in the sprint to win convincingly with Garry Delfs second and Clint Hort third.

C grade saw an aggressive race, with a number of riders attacking, however the strong winds made racing challenging. It always looked like a bunch sprint and it was with 25 riders in the mix rounding the last sweeper With Richard Maude first, Garry Horsfield second and Jill Pope third.

B grade was a similar race to C, with riders attacking and even getting small breaks. However all breaks were brought back and in the sprint finish it was Taylor Wilcock first, Mark Glorie second and John Duncan third.

It was a similar pattern in A grade, until the fifth of seven laps, when ten of the strongest riders broke free. The break stayed cleared and it was Luke Pledger taking the win, with Paul Mackay second and Logan Calder third.
