The North Dandalup Virtual Handicap turned out to be one for the A Graders after all. Alastair Milne went very hard from the gun, and led the whole race from start to finish. He was giving the B graders 3 minutes on this course, and appeared determined not to give them any chance after allowing them to follow his wheel last week.
Alastair was followed most of the way by President Liam Magowan, and Ryan Willmot who both appeared to miss the start, they chased hard, but could not close the gap. Ali’s pace was just ruthless.
The race come down to be between Alastair Milne and the B Grade chasing bunch that was made up of Steve Knight, Ja-Yang Yen, and Daryl Puyales who worked well together to chase. Unfortunately in the end the time gap was too large, and Ali took the win on corrected time, with Yen second, and Knight third.
John Wheelhouse looked like he was on a great time with a Handicap of 12 minutes, but a mechanical unfortunately saw him retire early. The rest of the bunch rode well on very unforgiving course.
Finally, congratulations to Julie Humphreys for completing a very tough course of 25km and 500m of climbing. That is just not easy to do on a stationary trainer.
Well done to all today, our next race will be in real life on June 27. See you all then.
