ANNOUNCEMENTS

Entries have opened for our next event in Dog Hill on 25 July for PDCC members. PDCC members, please check your email for the link to the registration page. The entries will open to all other Cycling Australia affiliated members on Sunday 19th July at 5pm.

Grading

After a successful Womens A grade last at the last event, the committee has decided to work on developing a strong Women’s racing scene with our club. We will be offering the following grades for the remainder of the season, and will run the points competition for each grade as per usual.

  • A Grade – this is for anyone if you think you are good enough
  • B Grade Men
  • A Grade Women
  • C Grade Mixed
  • D Grade Mixed
  • E Grade Mixed

If we see the need to add additional separate Women’s grades, we will do that as it arises. There really need to be a minimum of 8 competitors to make a competitive grade. We are currently seeing this in a strong Women’s A field and is justifying this change.

Race Nomination Fees

In an effort to make our racing more accessible and safer for competitors and other road users, the committee has decided to ensure the following is available at all future races.

  1. Manage bunch sized to a maximum of 30 participants (all grades)
  2. Ensure St John Ambulance First Aid is on site for all local events
  3. Ensure two toilets are provided for convenience
  4. Ensure a Professional Traffic Management company is utilised for our more complicated corners for added safety

All of these decisions have added cost to our events, but for good reasons.

Due to the additional cost, the committee has decided to raise race nomination fees from August 1 2020. The new race nomination will be an increase of $5.00 per participant to cover the additional costs. The new fees will be

                Juniors (All U17 and Below)                         $15.00

                PDCC Senior Members                                  $20.00

                Other Cycling Australia Members             $30.00

                Transponder hire costs                                  $5.00 (remain the same)
