Notice of AGM

Today members have received a Notice of AGM to be held on 1 November 2020. We have had this date planned for our AGM and Windup for 12 months, so it is by pure coincidence that it coincides with the the start of Auscycling.

Within the AGM notice is a Special Resolution that will require to be passed to allow the club to join Auscycling. This is the recommended action from the committee.

The PDCC club committee has always held the view that our club needs to be affiliated with the National Sporting Organisation. We are a sporting club, we race, we need our members and the club to be affiliated with the national body.

The main benefit of this will be that our members will be able to race other Auscycling disciplines with the one membership. A new website has been released by Auscycling with many FAQ’s. https://www.auscycling.org.au/. Please take the time to review it.

As Westcycle voted NO to joining Auscycling, it is currently unclear as to the support that will be offered the clubs in Western Australia. PDCC is in full support of Westcycle negotiating an agreement with Auscycling to continue to be the representative body of our sport in WA.

As a club PDCC is quite independent. Regardless of this unresolved issue, the committee is confident in being able to continue to offer the same level of service to our member base.

We trust this makes the position of the PDCC committee clear on this issue, and we hope to see you at our AGM and Windup on 1 November at the Peel Estate Winery. It is a free event.
