Looking at the weather forecast, it appears as though warmer days will finally visit us soon. With the change to Summer also comes the change to criterium racing, and PDCC have you sorted for all your favourite Sunday morning hit outs.
Next weekend will see our first race on Garden Island, within HMAS Stirling Naval Base. A sprinter’s paradise featuring a 600m straight between the final corner and the finish line, but could the wind favour a determined breakaway? Remember to fill out the Consent Form for all competitors and spectators before Wednesday 7pm, as names need to be provided to the Navy ahead of time. If you haven’t filled out the form you will be denied entry at the gate.
We will also be competing at fan-favourites Smeaton Way and Alumina Road in Rockingham. We are always welcoming of new and returning riders, and any top rider will tell you that the best way to improve is to compete. So come on down, grab a coffee, and join in!
I want to extend my thanks to the previous committee. 2020 and 2021 have been a challenging time for many areas of the community, yet it was through your hard work we were able to deliver what our members want – local racing. I’m also looking forward to working with my fellow committee members, new and returning, forwards into 2022 and the opportunities it will bring.
