From 2025 through to 2027, the National Championships will be held in Perth, Western Australia. This will mark the first time the event has been hosted in Perth since 1997, and we’re going to need the help of the Perth cycling community to make these the best Nationals ever. As with any major sporting event, an army of volunteers and officials are needed to make it all happen. Event Vehicles play an integral part of the core activies on the road.
What do the drivers do?
There are multiple vehicles that make up Road events and help them run smoothly, by providing safety, or supporting competitors or officials:
- Commissaire vehicles
- Media vehicles or motorbikes
- Team or neutral service vehicles in Road Races
- Follow vehicles in Time Trials
The Requirements?
People who have previous experience with driving in a Race Convoy will be highly regarded, as well as those who have raced at a level that included full service vehicle support – National, Continental, International etc.
