With a break in the racing over the Christmas and New Year period, Peel District Cycling Club decided to organise group rides for it’s members and other interested cyclists in the Peel region.
The first rides left from Clyde Park in Baldivis on Monday. The first group of almost 20 riders left at 6am, for a challenging 95km ride, that took them on quiet back roads to Mudijong, before climbing Jarrahdale Road, before visiting Serpentine Dam and the descending Kingsbury Drive for the return to Baldivis.
A second smaller group left at 6:30am for 75km ride along the coast, before turning inland for a good work out given the wind and small group size.
The final group left a 7am for a cruisy 55km ride along the coast. This group was larger than the two other groups combined and was made up of a range of riders from experienced A grade racers enjoying a recovery ride with company, to new recreational riders pushing their boundaries, safe in the knowledge this was a no drop ride. Which meant the group waited for you if you struggled up a climb or helped out if you had a puncture, so all riders rode together and finished the ride together.
The next rides are this Sunday from the same location and the same start times, for more information, see our group rides page
