Our Vision
The club’s long-term goal has always been for a dedicated race circuit for bicycles in the Peel Region. We see this as an important milestone to continue operation of the club in a sustainable way, and continue to develop wheeled sports in Western Australia.
We see the primary benefits as:
- Creating a home for the Peel District Cycling Club where none currently exists, allowing us to focus on developing our membership.
- Having a venue to regularly host training and racing events, mid-week and weekends, with reduced setup requirements for volunteers.
- Offering a venue to safely operate without vehicle interactions, which we see as a barrier to greater Female and Junior participation.
- Location to deliver bicycle education programs for schools, and talent identification for junior athletes.
Our Plan
In the second half of 2023 the Club Committee came together to develop a Strategic Plan to guide the club’s efforts over the subsequent 5 years. The primary pillar focusing on achieving our vision, and the secondary/tertiary pillars aiming to support the club’s operations in the meantime. This Strategic Plan was developed with funding from the Government of Western Australia. We thank the State government, through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, as major supporters of Peel District Cycling Club.

Of course a circuit suitable for racing and training could take many forms, below is a short video that demonstrates some possible solutions that could be implemented in a variety of locations.
